PD185585 - The Plight of the Lawyer Technologist More and more attorneys and paralegals are crossing over into the world of IT. Sounds exciting, but the life of a legal technologist is quite complicated. How do you convince both sides (legal and IT) that you’re one of them? How do you sit in the middle of the two worlds and relay messages to each side in their own language?

In this session, we’ll explore how to navigate the world of e-discovery in the hybrid role of the lawyer technologist, starting with the importance of the role and why we’re sometimes misunderstood. We’ll then explore ethical dilemmas that arise and practical approaches to avoiding conflict when acting as a go-between for trial teams and IT departments. Following this discussion, we’ll examine best practices and workflows in Relativity that will aide you in keeping both trial teams and IT personnel in constant communication to avoid potential misunderstandings or pitfalls.
